Zen Meditation Techniques For Beginners

The first step in learning Zen meditation is to choose an object to focus on. There are several objects that you can use, such as your breathing, your heartbeat, or a candle flame. Once you have chosen an object to focus on you will need to sit down in a quiet place. Make sure that there is nothing distracting you and that you are comfortable. Once you are sitting comfortably you will want to focus on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Focus on your breathing and let your mind go blank. After a few minutes, you should find yourself entering into a state of calmness.
