The difference between an addiction and a habit demonstrates how readily behaviors may be modified via the practice of self-hypnosis.

According to President Bush, our nation has an addiction to oil.

The majority of people who smoke claim to be hooked on nicotine.

I believed that I was.

Some people who are trying to give up smoking resort to chewing nicotine gum or using nicotine patches.

Because nicotine does not produce addiction, neither method is effective in more than fifteen percent of instances.

Heroin is.

Up until very recently, I did not differentiate between the two.

I previously wrote and distributed an essay that discussed the many different types of addictions that were really just habits.

Alcoholism is a disease that affects a relatively small portion of the population.

Heavy drinkers just make drinking a lot every day a part of their daily routine.

Those who smoke have the tendency to put something in their mouth up to four hundred times every day.

The United States population has developed the bad habit of driving their gas-guzzling automobiles wherever and whenever they feel like it.

Gamblers often destroy their lives to varying degrees through their addiction to the activity.

Heroin may lead to addiction.

Nicotine is not safe to use.

Heroin addicts have strong bodily responses when they are deprived of their drug of choice.

True alcoholics, on the other hand, also have extreme responses.

Regular drinkers are able to abstain from alcohol without experiencing any adverse bodily effects.

When they are unable to smoke, cigarette smokers do not experience any symptoms of illness.

Even when they are compelled to remain at home, drivers do not become ill as a result.

Gamblers simply become bored.

When we keep this difference in mind, we can see how hypnosis has the potential to be the ideal treatment for any habit that we want to break.

Early on in life, we form habits in an effort to make up for some perceived deficiency in either ourselves or our circumstances.

They, along with the reasons why they occurred, are relegated to the depths of our subconscious brains.

When I was twenty years old and a sophomore in college, I began smoking cigarettes.

I believed that it assisted me in falling asleep at night.

In point of fact, my anxiety levels were so high that I was unable to take full, deep breaths unless I was inhaling smoke.

When I ultimately kicked the habit a few years later, all I had to do to satisfy my cravings for a cigarette anytime I thought about it was take a big breath of air.

It was effective.

I could not believe how simple it was to finally give up smoking.

I was under the impression that I was hooked on nicotine.

Not only can hypnosis assist us in gaining access to the subconscious mind, but it also has the ability to retrain our behaviors.

In addition to this, it may alter the way that we see ourselves.

The same principle applies to weight reduction with this method.

Everyone who is overweight has their own unique reasons for being overweight, most of which are unknown.

There are times when our conscious minds tell us that we want to lose weight, but our unconscious minds tell us “no way.” That’s the reason why diets don’t work.

Through the use of hypnosis, one of my students was able to uncover the fact that she wore her additional weight as a shield against males “hitting on her.” She wanted to steer clear of flirting entirely since she was ill-equipped to handle it when it was directed at her.

She used to feel guilty about her prior sexual reactions to guys, but as she got over those sentiments, she started losing weight without even trying to.

Now that she has reached her ideal weight, she reports that she is feeling “very light-hearted.”

Hypnosis has the ability to assist us in the formation of new behaviors as well.

If you are already in debt and are continuing to fall farther behind, you should make it a daily practice to keep track of both your income and your expenses.

If you have a habit of misplacing items that are important to you, like your vehicle keys, you may hypnotize yourself to make sure that you always put them in the same location.

Because they are unsure of its risks, some individuals avoid hypnosis out of fear.

Some people aren’t familiar with any working hypnotists that they would trust or who are within their price range.

Answer: Self-hypnosis.

When it came to speaking up for myself, I used to become completely speechless.

I was able to express myself in writing, but I was unable to do so verbally.

I’d forget it.

My mind would go blank.

By using self-hypnosis, I was able to communicate with others.

Now that I’ve accumulated a few audio CDs, I can play them whenever the whim strikes me.

The title of one of them is “Break the Habit.” Another one is titled “Peak Performance,” while still another is called “Talking to Win.” That was something I went through with my granddaughter, who is 15 years old and was about to do a presentation in front of a group of adults.

However, my favorite is just letting my mind wander into the alpha wave state before I start utilizing the computer to maintain my website.

After I did that, everything started working considerably better for me.

The subconscious is where the mind stores all of our habits.

Hypnosis enables you to communicate with your subconscious, allowing you to break out of old routines and form new ones.

It typically takes approximately a month when you’re using self-hypnosis to re-program your subconscious mind.

It’s a lot simpler than you’d think it would be.

Using Mind Control

With all of the fear surrounding mind control and the ways in which Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be used to “mess with people’s brains” (and is being used to do so), it is high time that the secret was revealed and that people were made aware of precisely what was possible.

For instance, is it possible to instill an addiction in a person through the use of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)?

Yes, you can.

Let me first offer you two cautions before I show you how to protect yourself and then walk you through the stages of doing so.

To begin with, you should never do this to other people unless you are giving them a reason to do something that they desire that would be beneficial to them, like exercise or eating nutritious meals.

Anything else, and it could be entertaining to think about, but let’s just leave it at that for now.

Don’t even bother doing anything; just think about it.

It is just not a kind thing to do to other people in any way.

Second, you need to be highly skilled in NLP, report building, anchoring, and other related topics in order to do this.

Eliciting what are known as the NLP sub-modalities of a person’s compulsion is the first step in the process.

You may achieve this by first asking the person about the items they have compulsions for, such as chocolate, and then following up with another question on the same topic: “What kinds of pictures are running through your head at the same time that you have that compulsion?

Where exactly are those photographs located?

What size are these pictures? “Do you like black and white or color?” and the like.

Then, using the same method, continue to express what it is that you want them to get compulsive about or addicted to doing.

Describe the new urge by mentioning that it is experienced in the same places, etc.

I am not going to provide you with any other information beyond that.

Experimentation is possible with a sufficient amount of it.

Using this pattern, a person may develop a compulsion for drugs, sex, money, perfection, driving fast, or just about anything else you can think of.

However, you can also establish compulsions for exercise, punctuality, orderliness, and many other things that are considered to be “good.”

There are techniques to protect yourself against having an obsession secretly induced in you by another person.

First, be aware of the mental and emotional states that others are asking you to describe, and be on alert when they begin to speak about compulsions.

Also, be mindful of the individuals who are asking you to explain your compulsions.

If you have reason to believe that you were surreptitiously compelled to do anything against your will by another person (good luck), there is a way to erase the compulsion via a method that is known as the meta yes/meta no process.

In the first step of the Meta Yes/Meta No technique, you will consider an unrelated aspect of your urge to which you would respond “No.” Think about that thing, bring up the extremely powerful sensation you have, and continually state “No” in a way that is very resolute and consistent.

Repeat this process until the “No!” and the sensation become intricately intertwined with one another.

The next thing you need to do is start telling the urge “No!” over and over again while maintaining the same level of vigor and conviction that you had when you first began the procedure.
