If you are doubting what is real, you may be experiencing an Existential Crisis.
Given the current state of the globe, it is not an unreasonable thing to consider.
Our information sources sometimes provide inconsistent answers, which only adds to the uncertainty and, in some cases, dread.
Going through an existential crisis is challenging because you feel solitary, in the minority, and often alienated by people closest to you.
This might lead to feelings of loss or depression, as well as anxiety about the future.
You may believe that no one understands your point of view, and you may even believe that you do not understand yourself.
Let’s look at some of the signs of an existential crisis and then talk about what you can do about it.

15.
You believe your life is out of your control.

Why You Might Be Going Through An Existential Crisis
An existential crisis can occur when you are going through a major life change, such as a serious illness, moving to another area, a career change, heartbreak, divorce, or the death of a loved one, or when world conditions are threatening, but it can also occur when you are unable to find a fulfilling purpose in life.
People who are seeking spiritual insight may experience a “dark night of the soul.” This might happen if you have serious doubts about your religious beliefs or if you have a spiritual experience or awakening that you don’t fully comprehend.
An existential crisis may be triggered by any scenario that produces persistent stress.
Pandemics and natural calamities are undoubtedly examples of this.
These types of encounters may turn your world upside down and challenge the philosophical assumptions you’ve built your life upon.
The good news is that whatever is going on will pass or grow into something different.
The difficulty is that it is difficult to find answers while you are in an existential crisis.
You are not alone, since events on a global scale have a significant impact on individuals all over the globe.
You’d think that with all of society’s developments, we’d have better knowledge and control, yet the answers and solutions have yet to surface.
For one thing, our economy forces individuals to work long hours and to be anxious about finding time for what is actually significant.
As a consequence, there is an unfilled sense within.
The focus in our systems is mostly on technology, getting more stuff, and being active at all times.
This stops individuals from looking for answers to their problems.
When individuals are feeling empty on the inside, they seek things outside of themselves to distract them from their inner need for answers, and the diversions are a futile effort to achieve pleasure, meaning, and purpose.
When life is seen via an intellectual, analytical, and pragmatic lens, a person feels unsatisfied, empty, and “dry.” Nonetheless, our educational systems and business models embrace this approach.
Without even realizing it, everyone is brainwashed and entangled in a system that places individuals in relationships that are deficient, superficial, or hollow.
If You’re Going Through An Existential Crisis, Here’s Some Good News
1.
An existential crisis is an indicator that you are being pushed to awaken by an intelligent power.
The fact that you are experiencing an existential crisis proves that you are not a mindless sheep imprisoned in the hypnotic spell that others are.
It signifies that you want what only spiritual realizations can provide.
As a spiritual philosopher, Jiddu Krishnamurti put it, “being well adjusted to a terribly ill society is no measure of health.”
So if you’re feeling out of sync, you’re not alone.
Despite the fact that you may feel alone and unconnected, you are part of a big population that is waking to a new world.
2.
The exact system that has failed you is the spark for your awakening.
Your uncertainty and unpleasant sensations are just signs that you are in touch with a false self or false identity and are seeking the reality of your existence.
Any sensations of being lost, nervous, or unhappy are just signs that you know society has failed to offer you the necessary advice or solutions.
In fact, it may have been purposefully constructed that way.
There have been and continue to be people in power whose interests are benefited by teaching you in the manner in which you and the masses have been trained.
How to Use Existential Difficulties to Help You Evolve
When you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, it might inspire you to resuscitate yourself with a new sense of purpose.
When you’re depressed, you’ll look for solutions and re-adjust your value system to a more developed way of life.
An existential crisis might serve as a reset button for you.
You’re stuck with what hasn’t been working, so it’s time to try something new.
You can alter your mind and feelings no matter what. “OK, so that didn’t work; let’s try something new and go farther than we’ve ever gone before,” you tell yourself.
1. Consult with someone who is knowledgeable in giving advice.
You do not have to traverse your life’s path alone.
There are those who can guide and assist you.
You find a coach if you wish to succeed in a sport.
You locate music tutors if you desire to improve your musical abilities.
Find someone who has evolved to guide you if you wish to develop.
2. Make a list of your questions, opinions, and beliefs.
There is no better method to clarify what is going on in your thoughts than to write down your observations and conclusions at the end of each day.
After a month or two, you’ll be able to notice how your thinking has altered and grown.
You won’t remember where you were in the past if you don’t keep a record.
In only a few weeks, you’ll be able to forget these crucial data.
You’ll be able to see your growth more clearly if you write it down.
Writing allows you to clarify your own thoughts and points of view.
It allows you to concentrate better.
Don’t overthink what you’re writing; simply let it flow.
Write about your disappointments and rage.
Write about your thoughts, feelings, and suffering.
Write down your victories during the day.
This should just take five or ten minutes and consist of one to two paragraphs.
You simply need a paragraph or two to monitor your progress and define your thoughts and beliefs.
3. Reclaim your authority.
An existential crisis may be quite taxing.
It has the ability to drain your lifeforce, making it more difficult to inspire oneself.
Take a deep breath and remind yourself that you can do it!
Affirm that you will not let negative ideas and programming take over your mind.
4. Take an active role.
Get up and start doing something.
Perform an activity that you previously felt was enjoyable.
If you can’t think of anything else, go for a stroll in the woods.
Inhale deeply.
Pay attention to the noises.
Take a moment to smell the flora.
Give a tree a hug.
Take note of the clouds.
Sit by a brook.
Take note of the wind among the trees.
Nature is an excellent method to reset your batteries.
It aids in the disengagement of your mind from overthinking and the clarification of your motives.
If you find it difficult to go out into nature, view some nature films on YouTube.
5. Set aside some time for yourself.
People and life events often tug you in one direction or the other with expectations.
Set aside sometime each day for yourself to collect your thoughts and refresh.
Choose activities that are calming, nurturing, and enjoyable.
They might be as basic as attentive breathing or monitored breathing.
Take several deep breaths and open a window.
Give yourself a massage or arrange for someone else to massage you.
Take a relaxing bath.
Play some music.
Meditate.
6. Recognize and reduce stress.
This might imply stepping away from certain individuals or activities.
Inform them that you are undertaking some personal work to restructure your life and that you must place certain priorities aside for the time being.
Most individuals have had to do something similar, so they will understand your request and may even volunteer to assist you in any way they can.
Creating a peaceful and clear mind is one technique to reduce stress.
Schedule time each morning and evening for guided meditations to relax your mind and body.
All of my spiritual programs include guided meditations.
7. Investigate spirituality.
This is where the answers will eventually be found.
In her book Shamanism and Spirituality in Therapeutic Practice, Psychologist Christa Mackinnon writes, “…an in-depth study of 160 terminally ill patients in palliative care came to the conclusion that spiritual well-being provides a sense of peace and offers some protection against end-of-life despair in those for whom death is imminent.”
